My name is Sam Ferguson, and I am a composer and sound designer based in Toronto, Canada. My passion for sound and music began at a young age, and I’ve spent the past decade honing my craft and building a career in the performing arts industry.
At 17, I left home to train with Barry Truax, an esteemed electroacoustic composer and communication theorist, at the World Soundscape Studio atop Burnaby Mountain. This experience sparked my love for the art and science of sound, and I went on to pursue graduate studies in Sound Design at the Yale School of Drama.
After completing my studies, I returned to Toronto to work as a professional Composer and Sound Designer. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse range of artists and organizations, including theaters, filmmakers, musicians, and more.
My work is driven by a deep appreciation for the power of sound to shape our emotional experiences and enhance our storytelling. Whether I’m creating an immersive soundscape for a theatrical production or crafting the perfect music track for a film, I am always striving to push the boundaries of what is possible and create something truly unique and memorable.
